Ed Bass: "I have had a great deal of personal success, but nothing compares to the joy I get from seeing a child with a huge smile on their face because something I taught them helped them succeed. I believe you create your own fate and luck has nothing to do with it." Born and raised in Hayward, California, Ed played varsity baseball for 4 years at Tennyson High School and for Chabot College and San Jose State University. He was drafted by the Kansas City Royals twicethe second offer led three years in their minor league. Ed began his coaching career as varsity pitching coach at Monte Vista High School in Danville and in only his second year, the team went undefeated. He is currently coaching a girls softball team and was voted as one of the PCA (Positive Coaching Alliance) coaches of the year. Ed strives to empower the boys and girls he coaches with the knowledge and confidence to be the best player they can be. He teaches his athletes to be competitive and aggressive yet always respectful of the game and the competition. Ed believes that by providing a strong foundation, skills and knowledge of the game, his athletes will be winners no matter what! |
