In 2010, we opened Body By X Skill Development & Training Center to help people reach and maintain their fitness goals in a friendly, fun environment. Our belief is that everyone and every body is unique and therefore everyone's fitness program should be unique as well! Our 4,000 square foot facility in Corte Madera has state-of-the-art equipment, the largest commercial infrared sauna in Southern Marin and a welcoming environment that puts someone new to a gym completely at ease and makes a gym rat feel right at home. Body By X also has a Power Plate and the only bioDensity device in Marin. bioDensity is the first non-pharmaceutical solution for building bone density and reverses osteoporosis and osteopenia. Body By X is leaving the movement to reverse low bone density in people of all ages. Body By X also provides motivating, fun and challenging classes including the ONLY rowing class offered in a fitness center in Marin, Rhythm Ride with X--an indoor cycling class like NONE other that will have you feeling like you're dancing on a bike, and Aerial Fitness--a challenging workout using swings suspended from the air.

THE "X" IN BODY BY X...and the body too!
Xavier has been a personal trainer for over 30 years. His vision for Body By X was to create a space where kids and adults could overcome their physical and emotional fears and improve their self-esteem. Known to all as "X", Xavier's athletic process as a kid had him heading towards the NFL but a serious knee injury in his late teens thwarted his plans. Being an athlete led Xavier to the gym and he began his career in fitness on the sales side. He quickly realized, however, that to achieve long-term success, people needed more than just signing a contract. So, he decided to become a personal trainer. Since then he's helped hundreds of people reach their goals and sustain a healthy lifestyle. Over the years, Xavier has learned not just to listen but to REALLY HEAR the needs of people of all ages. It's this ability that helps him encourage people to move beyond their perceived limitations.
Xavier was named Best Personal Trainer in San Francisco's Bay Guardian's Best of the Bay 2010 Readers Poll . He has coached boys and girls CYO and AAU basketball teams to championships and many tournament wins and is known for his work with kids and youth athletes. His experience as a youth athlete and the wealth of knowledge gained over the years as a trainer make him uniquely qualified to work with kids. But it is his heart, enthusiasm and passion that turns a B athlete into a star. These same qualities have helped men and women of ALL ages build confidence and reach their goals.

THE“BODY” IN BODY BY X
Nadia is a personal trainer and teaches our Aerial classes, Buns & Bellies and the TRX part of our T-Row-X class! She also manages the business side of Body By X including marketing and community outreach. Nadia has worked in advertising, retail management and as a project manager for a software company. She has a master’s degree in psychology and all of these experiences have prepared her well for gym ownership!
What makes Nadia's contribution to Body By X so special though, is the fact that she was gym phobic until the age of 38. So gym phobic that she'd never been to a gym! Until...she met Xavier!
Xavier and Nadia met a a party held by a mutual friend. Neither was interested in a relationship but Nadia felt an instant and strong connection to Xavier and when the evening ended she had an idea! She decided that the only way to get Xavier to feel the same connection was to hire him as her personal trainer!
A week later she found herself on a treadmill at 6 am, warming up for her first personal training session. Over the next few months, Nadia fell in love with strength training. It gave her so much internal strength and confidence. She also fell in love with Xavier. And fortunately, he fell in love with her!
When Nadia and Xavier decided to open a fitness center of their own Nadia knew she wanted to create a space that was welcoming, safe and fun. Xavier helped her change the way she thought about fitness and she wanted to do the same for others!

Are you ready to dance on a bike? Xavier will take you on the ride of your life using the beat of the music and a kick ass stereo system to guide you! You’ll ride the flats, do lots of mountain climbing and experience a range of speeds and resistance that will take you through all your training zones. New to indoor cycling? Don’t worry, this class is for EVERYONE. The ONLY requirement is that you’re at least 4 foot 10. You won’t want to take an indoor cycling class anywhere else after taking this one. Seriously. It’s that great.
Straps. Yep, straps. Straps that provide a full-body workout that will utilize your own body weight to help get you strong. Created by a Bay Area ex-Navy Seal, these straps will kick your butt. And if that’s not enough, the Xtra will having you stepping away from the straps long enough to use other aspects of the Center to get that booty even stronger. It's beginner-friendly but challenging enough for the fittest. The best part. Are you ready? You determine how hard you want to go simply by changing the position of your body. Nice for those days you’re feeling like a wimp and great for those days when you’re ready to conquer the world!
An indoor rower provides a full body workout better than almost any other piece of exercise equipment. You control the effort of each stroke as you use the power of your major muscles to improve your cardio-conditioning. Indoor rowing builds cardio-endurance and muscular strength with a workout that tones and conditions your arms, quads, hamstrings, glutes and abs, all at the same time! New to rowing? No problem. We’ll start with the basics and move on from there. Experienced? We’ll review detailed rowing-stroke technique and good posture and form. Get an all-around, non-impact, muscle-toning, endurance-building, fat-burning workout that can burn over 500 calories in less than 50 minutes.
New to strength training? Never been to a gym? Hate working out by yourself? This class is for YOU! It’s a small group-exercise program designed to help you gain strength, stability and flexibility. Learn to use your own body weight, dumb bells, machines (yes those ugly gray pieces of equipment you’ve stared blindly at for years!) to get you in optimal shape. You may even make some friends on your way to getting fit, woohoo!
This boot camp style class will keep your heart rate up and the blues down! Calling all injury free folks who want a fast paced, sweat producing workout, this one’s for YOU! You’ll have a blast running through our agility ladder, jumping over hurdles, zipping through cones and pushing past your comfort zone. Don’t worry, we’ll provide the towels.
A MUST take class for anyone who exercises. If you don’t take this class, someday you won’t be able to take any class. That’s really all there is to say. Oh, one more thing. You’ll feel like a brand new person when it’s over.
Fun? Yes! Challenging? Hell yeah. Aerial Fitness is a little bit of everything. Simply put, it’s strength training in the air. You’ll do tons of stretching too and your core will thank you when it’s over. Great for stress relief and fun for ages 8 to 88. If you’re looking for a different kind of workout, you just found it! Pull-ups and push-ups will never be the same.
My middle school daughter has been learning Aerial Fitness with Nadia for less than two months, and it has already had such a positive impact on her - both mentally and physically. Her strength and skills have built up rapidly under Nadia’s guidance, but more significantly, her self confidence and happiness have gone through the roof. I am incredibly impressed by how much my daughter learned in a few hours with Nadia during Winter Break. Her performance at the end was like something out of Cirque du Soleil.

Come hang with us! This "class" isn't really a class but an opportunity for beginners to learn Aerial basics and advanced participants to practice their moves! Drop in anytime between 4 and 6 on Wednesdays. Come on…haven’t you always wanted to try it? Now’s your chance!
No…not a class on making pork belly sandwiches, silly! An AB/GLUTE class designed to target those stubborn muscles most of us want to change the most! We can’t guarantee glutes of steel or a 6-pack abs, but if you come consistently you’ll notice you can run flights of stairs you used to walk, get injured less (or not at all) and feel a whole lot more comfortable sitting at your desk. Not to mention improved balance and stability on and off the field!
Only have an hour to workout? Don’t want to choose between strength training and cardio? T-R0w-X is the answer! You’ll spend half your time on an indoor rowing machine and the other half on the TRX straps. We’ll give you a few water breaks but you’ll be moving every body part for 1 hour. Yep, that’s 60 minutes of strength training and cardio. You know it will be the best hour of your day! All ages and levels of ability welcome. Come on…NO excuses!
